GOBI headlines at PCME 2015
The role of ecologically or biologically sensitive areas in the conservation of marine biodiversity in the High Seas headlined at the recent conference on Progress in Marine Conservation in Europe (Stralsund, Germany, 14-18 September 2015).
Presentations by GOBI Coordinator David Johnson and BfN’s Henning von Nordheim highlighted the CBD‘s work in progressing the description of EBSAs and GOBI’s efforts in providing scientific input to the process. David Johnson presented a keynote address on “The global ocean process of identifying EBSAs: What now, what next?“.
The Progress in Marine Conservation in Europe conference was organised and hosted by Germany’s Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN), attracting more than 200 participants from across Europe and beyond.
